Welcome to my website

I am V.H. Damle, a scientist with a passion for understanding the fundamental principles of light-matter interactions. Although I have expertise in the field of optics, spectroscopy and nano metrology, I am always looking to learn more and expand my knowledge in these areas. I aspire to contribute to the field by researching and developing new spectroscopic techniques for detecting materials and probing light-matter interactions.

I completed my PhD under the guidance of Prof. Yaakov R. Tischler from Bar-Ilan University in Israel, where my research on engineering Raman scattering phenomena has been published in peer-reviewed journals. I am also grateful for the valuable industrial experience I gained as an on-site electron microscopy technologist for Jeol India Pvt. Ltd. at NITK Surathkal, and for the opportunity to continue my research as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UNLOCK, Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands and a visiting researcher at the Microelectronics Research Unit, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, University of Oulu, Finland. My research interests include molecular photonics and spectroscopy, with a focus on device spectroscopy, nanometrology, and energy materials.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading philosophy, history, and non-fiction, and exploring nature, forests, and wildlife. Photography and farming are my hobbies that keep me connected with the nature and give me peace of mind.

I am also blessed with the best support system in my life, my wife Sharadhi A.S. She is my source of strength and inspiration, and together we work towards our common goals and aspirations, making our journey more meaningful and fulfilling. I am deeply grateful for her unwavering support.
